About Joy

Joy is a first class science graduate of Oxford University. Her second (first class) degree is in Traditional Acupuncture which she studied for three years at the prestigious College of Integrated Chinese Medicine.  She holds a Licentiate in Acupuncture and is a Member of the British Acupuncture Council.

She practises a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and 5 Element Acupuncture, enabling her to both 'fix' problems and treat people at a deep constitutional level.

Joy co-ordinates OXAC, Oxfordshire's regional group of acupuncturists, organising events and seminars aimed at practitioner collaboration and Continuing Professional Development.

What to expect from Facial Enhancement Acupuncture:

“The first thing a patient will notice after their first treatment is the improvement to the tone and texture of their skin.  The Qi energy that is generated in the face during a treatment will show itself very early on and after a few days the patient should have a radiant glow that is very evident to people around them. Many patients report back to me after treatment and say that their friends have noticed they are looking well but cannot put their finger on what is different about them.

Working with the facial muscles and the contours of the face to achieve a structural change can take a little longer but even after only two or three treatments the patient should notice a dramatic reduction in fine lines and also any puffiness that may be apparent on the face. The pores will tighten and a more even colour and tone should be evident across the face.

For longer term changes to the patient’s appearance it will be necessary to conduct treatment on a regular basis, when and at what intervals can obviously vary from patient to patient depending on their individual circumstances. However, you will notice very dramatic results as the muscles in the face tighten and the lines and wrinkles start to fade.”
