TOTAL HEALTH MANAGEMENT
This treatment is specifically designed according to your needs. The overall aim is to address the cause of the problem, not just the presenting symptoms.
The general approach to the session is gentle and looks at the person as a whole, taking lifestyle, postural and stress factors into account.
Your first session
The first session is important because it helps to gain an insight into the condition presented as well as recording valuable information on your present state of health.
It is divided into three sections:
- Initial recording of personal and medical details
- Physical assessment and treatment
- Discussion of treatment plan and cause of problem
Drawing his experience from different disciplines, Patrick works in an integrated manner. He uses gentle manipulations of the spine, pelvis and other joints in order to restore nerve function. He also uses remedial massage to unwind muscular tension and general stiffness. Other therapeutic techniques may be used during the session and advice on posture and corrective exercises may be given when appropriate.
How many sessions will you need?
depending on:
Your age: you generally heal more slowly as you get older
The nature of the problem: a sciatica could take longer to clear than a simple backache.
How long you have had the problem for: generally, recent conditions or injuries will resolve faster than old ones.
You may need to receive between four and ten sessions, at weekly intervals, then gradually more spaced out by which time positive changes in your condition should have occurred. Occasionally with very acute conditions you may need to come twice weekly initially.
The number of treatments is not prolonged unnecessarily unless there is a real need for it. With your consent your GP will be informed of your treatment.
The number of sessions needed varies considerably
Improving your Health
As well as having Chiropractic care, you can also make a positive contribution towards improving your health.
You will be guided and made aware of the different aspects of your lifestyle which may lead to your presenting problems and how you can change or modify them to achieve Optimum Health.
Good health is not merely the absence of pain, it is total freedom to enjoy your body with ease. Here are some examples of how you can restore your well-being:
- good posture and proper exercises
- less stress and more relaxation
- balanced diet and nutritional supplements
- positive thinking and attitude to life
- recreation and leisure time
