Carmen Adamou - Homeopath Now practising at the Beanbag Clinic
Profile
I first became interested in alternative medicine and homeopathy when my children were very young and were repeatedly having ear infections, I wanted a more natural approach to their treatment rather than continually giving them medications. I was so amazed with the results that I decided to train as a professional homeopath, this took over 4 years. I trained at Salisbury Homeopathic college and at Purton House School of Homeopathy where I attained my license to practice. During my clinical training I worked in a low-cost homeopathic clinic for children called Sunrise clinic when living in London for over 2 years.
I practice homeopathy with the belief that every person is unique, and so every consult and prescription that I make is tailored to their individual needs.
What is Homoeopathy?
It is a gentle, natural system of medicine which has been tried and tested for over 200 years. The word homoeopathy derives from the Greek ‘homoios’ which means similar and ‘pathos’ means suffering. It’s fundamental principle is ‘treating like with like’. Therefore if a substance causes a certain set of symptoms in a healthy person, then a sick person displaying a similar set of symptoms can be treated with that substance.
Some 30 million people use homoeopathy including the British Royal family, the Queen has her own homeopathic physician. Celebrities such as Paul McCartney, David Beckham, Boris Becker, the French soccer team that won the world cup, Yehudi Gordon (obstetrician), Tina Turner, Cher, Jane Seymour, Cindy Crawford are all supporters of homoeopathy.
